Well..Many people may have heard about the E-Passport...as it was introduced last year in INDIA for diplomats...but they are yet to be implemented for general population...But i came to knew about this thing yesterday only so i thought to post some info about it on my blog....for general public...
WHAT is an E-passport???
Well e-passports are electronic passports in a way that a chip is embedded in them...and the data can be read from this chip wirelessly by electronic devices almost instantly....well this chip gives all the information about the person profile...instantly to the checker...The chip which is embedded is called RFID tag... i.e Radio Frequency Identification...the e-passport first got started in Malaysia in 1998....
WEll...reading about RFID chips...i came to know some of its Application area...well a good example was...WILDLIFE...the activity of animals and there health are tracked by RD chips embedded in them...and other good example is shopping mall...where theaft is of great concern....well when you walk out of malls you must have noticed you walk out of two vertical plates...these plates are RFID detectors or readers.... clothes etc are tagged with some small plasitc chip and they are RFID chips...So next time while robbing something from mall beware of RFID chip and detectors.....there were many more application but these were one of the main and quite knowledgeble....
